World War II
In the early 1930's, a young Austrian man named Adolph Hitler attempted to lead an
overthrow of the local Berlin government by a group of National Socialists (Nazis), but
was defeated. In prison, he wrote 'Mein Kampf', (My Struggle), and emerged as a
leading voice in the fledgling Nazi movement. After being elected Chancellor of
Germany, Hitler embarked on a campaign of invasion, murder and terror the likes of
which the world had never seen. His irrational, unfounded and barbaric hatred of Jewish
people, along with the Nazi regime's unchecked conquering of European countries
forced the rest of the civilized world to arm themselves in battle; a true world war -
America, Great Britain, Finland, and the other Allies against the Axis - Germany, Japan
and Fascist Italy...France was capitulating as usual, and Russia was hanging with the
Allies at first, but boy, did they start a damned Cold War!
