Norse Mythology
The Vikings, a sea-faring and adventurous people from Scandanavia, worshipped a
pantheon of Gods who lived in Asgard, Gods dedicated to favorable weather for
sailing and battle. Chief amongst these Gods were All-Father Odin, who traded an
eye for knowledge, his son Thor, the God of Thunder, Heimdall, born of nine
mothers and guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, adopted son Loki, God of Mischief,
and Surtr, God of Fire. Together, the Gods and Goddesses of Asgard would face
their own inevitable doom in an event called Ragnarok, the unending, unavoidable
cycle of Universal destruction.
